Lance Briggs Re-Signs with The Bears

Lance Briggs agrees to stay with Bears

Bears re-signed Lance Briggs to a six-year, $36 million contract, with $12 million in guarantees.

Sometimes free agency isn't all it's cracked up to be. After holding out because of Chicago's use of the franchise tag last summer, Briggs didn't get a sniff from another team on the open market. His pricetag and fears that Briggs is a product of Lovie Smith's system scared teams off. Briggs' tackle numbers should stay sky high. Mar. 1 - 9:39 pm et

Great news for the bears! ;-D
We must not confuse dissent from disloyalty. We will not walk in fear, one of another, we will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason.

Like a sliver of sunshine in a very bleak off season for a team that went to a SB two seasons ago. Is it just me, or does the Bears resemble the Raiders who went to a SB than imploded?
I hate Duh-Bears, but I sure don't want to see them go the way of the Raiders.

They actually remind me of the Bucs after that same year, except if they hadn't won it and had the one year SB hangover to deal with. I think the Bears will be back in the playoffs for a few years, but like that Bucs team their defense is going to age and get a little bit worse every year while their offense doesn't really get better, especially if they continue the trend of getting rid of their best offensive player after every season.
