A thought for 2008:

If we re-align the league after the year into 4 3-Team Divisions (in two "Conferences" perhaps) based on geography, zodiac signs, whatever we could break down the schedule like so:

2 games vs. each Division Opponent = 4 Games
1 Game vs. each Non-Division Opponent = 9 Games

There's your 13 game slate. Everyone plays everyone.

(Plus, we need to come up with names for our divisions)

Good idea, we might start a 2008 discussion thread

I did some experimenting in my work league this year. We added 2 teams to bring us to 12 (the same as this league. Well, as you can see there is not a good schedule schedule solution for 4 team divisions, which I think is the minimum a division should have(just my thoughts). Back to what I did, I've never played double headers, so I left it to a vote of our league to either play all double headers except for 1 week or 1 week of a double header and the rest regular. Because none of us had done double headers we opted for the 1 double header. This would give us 2 division games and 1 game against all non-division opponents. 14 games in 13 weeks. The week I selected for the double header was week 3. My reason, this would give enough time to evaluate some of your players and it is before the bye weeks begin. It would suck to play a double header on a week that you didn't have LT2 It seemed to work fine. We have AOL as my league set-up and it was real easy set-up. I really want to have double headers all weeks but 1 next year. This would give 3 division games and 2 non-division games.

Just a thought on schedules

It has taken me 2 hours to write this..in between working...I'll have more thoughts but gotta run.
