Probably because I put "only" in quotes. I see why you asked that now. But I really was agreeing with you and I think he could have gotten more, especially more than two million more than what Berrian got. That's a weird deal!

Eagles willing to match but not exceed Pats offer http://gcobb.com/content/view/1131/2/

Andy Reid was on the telephone this afternoon for over an hour with Randy Moss but he wasn't able to talk him into turning down a 3 year $27 million deal with Patriots. Moss decided to stay put where he is with the Patriots. Reid and the Eagles weren't willing to better the offer from the Pats.

Getting Moss would have helped the Eagles immensely....I wonder how much they would have had to bump up the offer for him to go to the Eagles instead of staying with the Pats.

Although we didn't get him, at least they acknowledge they have WR issues

Seems a reasonable deal for the Pats. Odd that Moss couldn't have worked out a better deal. Age and character I suppose.

A LOT lower. If Berrian is worth $7 mill per...Randy Moss at $9 mill per is a bargain.

i thought moss would have asked for more than that. apparently a lot of the money is guaranteed, maybe he liked that?
