Steelers signed RB Mewelde Moore, formerly of the Vikings, to a three-year contract. Despite trying to trade for him last October, the Bucs never showed interest. Moore, only 25, hardly played in 2007 behind Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, but holds a career 4.9 yards-per-carry average and is an excellent receiver. He'll cut into third-down playing time of Najeh Davenport and Willie Parker, while competing to handle kickoff and punt duties. Mar. 3 - 2:20 pm et
Good signing for Pittsburgh....hopefully he can finally give us that boost in our special teams that we've been so lacking for many years. He's always been a good return man so I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do for us. I think Davenport's value takes the biggest hit here as Moore has a decent chance of taking over 3rd downs for next year...Parker should still see plenty of carries though similar to what he saw this year.
Good, some very much needed depth at running back. I feel much better now that Carey Davis and Gary Russell are no longer the best options behind FWP and Davenport. Maybe he can run the waste of a draft pick Allen Rossum out of town.
Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion

Rossum is already gone....signed with the 49ers in free agency.

Don't Shhhhh me...gosh I hate it when people do that....
I think Moore could be a very good value pickup in ppr leagues. Davenport demonstrated that he can't do the backup job and Moore is a very good receiver out of the backfield. I'm not a huge fan of the Steelers offensive line as it as really deteriorated in recent years, but I think Moore is the definite handcuff to have to FWP now...

Davenport actually did a pretty good job this year as the back-up. Anyway, I don't think this has much of an impact for FF purposes. Parker's value is about the same, Davenport didn't have much to begin with but it went down some, and Moore's went up a little, but still not a ton.
