Calvin Pace Signs with The Jets

Jets signed LB Calvin Pace to a six-year, $42 million contract. The deal includes $22 million in guarantees.

We love Pace's potential, but this is monster money for a player that's had one legitimately good full season. The Dolphins and Cardinals weren't going to go this high. Pace will likely play the strong outside linebacker spot in New York opposite ROLB Bryan Thomas. His big-play potential will be limited there, but Pace should be a big upgrade over Victor Hobson.

That's kinda what I've been thinking about almost all the players the Jets are throwing $$$$ at. I'm happy about getting Faneca and I'm happy to see the Jets actually DOING something in free agency/trades to get better....I just don't trust that they're throwing the $$$$ at the right players. Jenkins? Pace? Woody? Noone seems to think that ANY of these 3 warranted the $$$$ thrown at them. Time will tell but with the Jets' wonderful track record ( )...one can see why I'm a tad pessimistic.
