How difficult is it to be a Raiders fan? My goodness, the boneheaded moves just keep rolling in. It's not even like an NFL franchise anymore, it's just a collection of players getting paid, putting in their 16 games and heading to the party when it's done.
Good luck to you, Oaktowners. You're going to need it.

Being in Cali I know quite a few Raider fans. It's crazy how pumped up they get heading into each season and before each game...I love to remind them that they are rooting for the Raiders.
Walker basically forced his way out of both Green Bay and Denver, two pretty stable franchises with good systems in place. I just cannot see him being anything that resembles happy in Oakland, even though they are paying him about a billion times what he is worth. Players generally become malcontents after they have spent a few years in Oakland, now Oakland is bringing in somebody who was already a malcontent. I do not see this ending well.
Yeah, I was in the Bay for a couple of years and I remember how much they love their team, but these days it has to be like swallowing hemlock every time they go to the Coliseum.

What I'm starting to find very interesting is that DJ Hackett has gone untouched so far. I just read that Hackett certainly hasn't ruled out signing back with Seattle and that there is speculation that he might sign for cheap (relatively) for one year to try to build up his asking price. Are teams really that afraid of his ability to stay healthy?
I certainly would have given Hackett half of that money Walker just got and expected *better* production if I owned the Raiders. What the hell is Al Davis thinking?
