My most recent Outdoors Column for The Daily Item newspaper. It is a pretty fun read. Extra brownie points for the first person to find the glaring mistake I made in writing it.

It's not a grammar issue (at least not the item I'm referring to). I noticed it Sunday when it was too late (reading it in the paper) and then was called out on it by a reader via e-mail. Just figured I'd see how astute the cafe is tonight!
Oh, I got it now. The conversion of how fast the bird was flying. It's roughly 1,600 meters per mile, so at 9.5 meters per second, times 60 seconds, times 60 minutes, you're talking 34,200 meters. Divide by 1,600 and you get 21.375 miles per hour. You wrote 3.5 miles per hour for the speed of the bird.
Well. Guess I'm not drunk yet.
