Man, I want some new poker chips. I have the old dice composite chips and really need an upgrade. I've heard that NexGen's are a good composite brand that is as close to clay as you can get:

I love clay chips... then again, I don't want to spend $500 on a set of Paulson's either.

Anyone have any suggestions?

There are a lot of leagues out there and they give these chip sets away all of the time.

Minnesota is full of them, but you will have to play like a donkey to get them. :-t

On a serious note. Most retail will charge you at least double what they pay. The internet might not be the best option for these for the shipping costs should be high with the weight of the chips.

Ever try ebay? I bought a set of 350 or so chips for like $35 + shipping. They are 11.5 gram clay chips. No they aren't actual casino chips but they feel just like them.

Here's a link to a 500 piece set of the same style.

All my poker chips I own were given as gifts. One of my sets is clay and I'm not a big fan of them (the particular chips I got--not all clay chips).

Is there any poker/billiards/gaming stores in your area? I'd stop by one of those and get a feel for the chips. That's the biggest factor--how the chips feel in your hand. The clay chips I own are not smooth at all; they slightly resemble the feel of sandpaper and are horrible for doing chip tricks.
