Fitzgerald continues to refine game

FLAGSTAFF - Larry Fitzgerald's background and accomplishments fill nine pages in the Cardinals' 2008 media guide. In four NFL seasons, he has made two Pro Bowls, led the team in receptions three times, missed only four games and twice finished with 1,409 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns in a season.
So it seems unreasonable, and maybe a little unrealistic, to ask more from one of the league's better receivers. Yet Cardinals coaches are doing just that.
Though Fitzgerald has done more than scratch the surface of his potential, coaches don't think he has really drilled down to the core of it, either.
He can run better routes, they say. He can gain more yards after the catch. He can become a better blocker. Coaches are on him to do all those things, and the fact that Fitzgerald signed a four-year, $40 million deal this spring gives them the audacity, and the right, to ask.
"That may surface every once in a while out there on the field," coach Ken Whisenhunt said with a smile. "Maybe a little quip here and there."
Fitzgerald has shown no signs of slacking off because of the new contract. If anything, he has worked harder than ever. He has participated in every practice and never skipped a turn during drills.
