Jets agreed to terms with TE Bubba Franks, formerly of the Packers.

Franks, 30, caught 18 passes for 132 yards (7.2 YPC) and three TDs in 2007 as Donald Lee's backup. He's slowed down quite a bit, but can still help in the run game. Franks will be the Jets' No. 2 tight end behind Chris Baker.

Funny/Sad story about this signing. I'm getting ready for work and I turn on ESPN. The 1st thing I see on the bottom line is "signs WR, DJ Hackett to a 2 yr deal". I think to myself that it would be a good move if the Jets got him. So I did what I was doing but kept an eye on the bottom line to see who signed him. It scrolls to "NFL" and it starts: "NY Jets sign" and I was like "YES!!"....."TE, Bubba Franks to a 1 yr deal" and I was like "HUH!?!"....then it mentioned Carolina signed Hackett. What a fricking tease!

With the way they have been throwing money around I definetly thought they should have shown interest in DJ Hackett and/or Bryant Johnson. Especially with Coles causing problems about his contract. All we really have is Cotchery and Brad Smith.
