Value of 1.01 in dynasty leagues?

Postby TeamRoc » Tue Mar 25, 2008 8:06 pm

What are people paying/getting for 1.01?

I got an offer of Ryan Grant + 1.01 for SJAX.

Seems like a decent offer. But I'm not sure what the market is for 1.01.

I feel like you can get way more value than that for it...especially once the NFL draft happens and the closer you get to your draft day. The value will sky-rocket. Always does. Especially after seeing what ADP did last season, just wait tons of people will be jumping on the #1= HOF bandwagon.

If you're not getting a draft pick in return I would probably stick with your pick. Or I would say it would be fair without trading out Ryan Grant (although that would never fly). But to not get any pick in return doesn't make any sense. Waiting until after the NFL draft or closer to your own draft will help, as was said before.

To be fair though, I think Ryan Grant is going to be next year's bust and this will become more apparent the closer we get to the season. IMO, I would consider making that trade if the guy also threw in his (likely late) 1st round pick.

5th year of a dynasty league and only once has the #1 rookie pick been traded. It was last year, an exceptional year with ADP being the consensus #1. Many offers were given to the owner of the #1 and the final offer that he finally accepted (the day of the draft) was LJ and 1.04 for 1.01.

Opinions were evenly split. Some thought it was too much for the 1.01, some thought it was a reasonable deal. Both were happy with it although I think the ADP owner is currently a little happier.

Sort of off-topic, but that trade is a steal for you. People are still on the AD high from last year. This is not one of those years (which are very rare). There is no AD, and you're looking at giving up two "good" prospects for one truely elite stud. Studs win championships. Do it.

I think this is a year where you have to seriously consider dealing 1.01. Too many folks with ADP-Fever driving up its' value not to.

I don't see how you could pass this up. SJAX is a top 5 back, and you're giving up a couple good prospects, who added together, have had a total of 1 good NFL season.

Thanks to abrunn for the awesome sig

Am I the only one that thinks he's the one with SJax that's being offered Ryan and the 1.01?

If so, I'd keep SJax. I don't think a rookie and one year wonder (thus far) are worth a Top 3 back.

Originally I thought he was dealing the 1.1, but looking back I have no idea :-?
