Dominic Rhodes departed Oakland saying what we all suspected: Coach Lane Kiffin wasn't thrilled about taking a running back in the first round.
Of course, we figured it out that Kiffin wasn't into taking a running back when he announced he thought Oakland was stacked at running back on two different occasions in April. The Raiders ended up taking Arkansas running back Darren McFadden with the No. 4 even though Oakland has major issues on the defensive line.
LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey would have been a perfect fit in Oakland. Dorsey would have been a natural replacement for the retired Warren Sapp. Yet, when Oakland took McFadden, AFC West rival Kansas City jumped on Dorsey at No. 5.
Rhodes' comments show there is a feeling among players, at least former Oakland players that Kiffin doesn't get what he wants. Rhodes is probably right, and that's no shot at Kiffin. It's just a way of life in Oakland.
Apparrently Kiffin was not to happy with the McFadden Pick!!!!!!!!!!
I really feel for Kiffin. I think he is actually a pretty damn good coach. If he had control of that team, he could start turning it around..but when you have senile old Al Davis calling the shots..the Raiders are going to sit in obscurity for another 10 years.
