Looking forward to the game with the Huskers. Hopefully playing Tryod will help us out and the coaches get the rest of the kinks worked out. Should be a good match up though.

The Hokies had better get their D all geared up. Our Offense is good and going to get better over the next two games.

It should be a pretty good game, but I think the Huskers may have this one. We'll see.

Remember when teams used to fear Nebraska? Remember when they came here just for the payday, hoping to get out with most of their team in one piece?

My, my - how far we have fallen in the eyes of the college football world.

Seems our friends at San Jose State originally had a game set up with Tennessee this weekend, but reneged on the deal and decided to come to Lincoln because... brace yourselves... they considered it easier to come to Lincoln than to go to Tennessee.

"It's crazy to go to Nebraska,'' Coach Dick Tomey said in the article. "But it's double-crazy to go to Tennessee.''

Tomey also thinks they have a better shot at winning in Lincoln than in Knoxville: "Are we good enough to win? Sure,'' Tomey says. "The best team doesn't win. The team that plays the best wins.''

This from a coach whose team barely beat 1-AA UC Davis (a brainiac school) last week, 13-10.

If there were any lingering doubts about the destruction of the Husker image from the Bill Callahan years, this should put those to rest.

Poor Bo. It must be rough living in Carl's shadow.

Like Miami, I am just not ranking Nebraska until they get a quality win.

We don't deserve to be ranked yet. We just haven't played anyone. Although i was pleased to see that we manhandled the spread offense and a Veteran QB of New Mexico State. Gives me a little hope that we might be able to at least contain a few of these explosive Big 12 offenses.

My players to watch this week:
Erik Haag, DB - He looks to be one of the few physical DBs that we have.
Tyler Wortman, LB - Big physical LB that finally will get some PT this week because we are playing a team that will actually lineup and run the ball.
Marlon Lucky, RB - Needs to prove that he can run between the tackles
Cody Glenn, LB - We're gonna need him to contain Taylor
Niles Paul, WR - I'd really like to see him get more snaps on offense. Hes looked very promising on punt and kickoff returns so far.
