Lions: Williams comments on Cowboys rumors
The News
Roy Williams commented on the rumor of a possible trade to the Dallas Cowboys, according to The Star-Telegram. Williams said, "Of course I want to stay in Detroit. Everybody wants to stay with the team that drafted them. They are telling me I am going to be a Lion for at least one more season. That's what I have on my mind. What are they going to do with me? Could they pay me? Yes. Will they pay me? That's the question that needs to be answered. If I get franchised, I get franchised. If they want to go in another direction, that is part of the business." A source close to Williams said that he wants to play for the Cowboys if he isn't in Detroit, but Williams noted "Man, you know I can't answer that question."
Our View
Williams and Terrell Owens would make an exceptional receiving tandem for Tony Romo if this rumor proves true.

per Fanball.com - I hope this is true as a Romo owner. Proverbially crossing my fingers ;-D . . .

I don't think we can afford him. He would want too much money.

Those two, Witten and MBIII would be downright scary. That being said, I can't see it happening this offseason.

That would be a formidable combination of skill players on offense without a doubt. But unless paycuts were coming, I can't see it ever happening. To pay Romo, MBIII, TO, Witten, and then Roy their market value would seriously limit the rest of the team. And I can't see any of those 5 taking a paycut at this stage of the game.

Having said that though, there are a few owners who could and would try to make it happen and Jerry Jones is most certainly one of them.

Signability and putting together a trade deal that would make sense for the idiot Lions are huge barriers to this dream team. Do the Boys have any ex-Buccaneers they'd be willing to part with?

There is no way any deal happens here... Even if it would make sense for both teams Roy will be a lion for at least one more year and then tagged next year.
