Star Plant QB picks Dawgs over Gators
Press conference held Thursday
Thursday, April 24, 2008
Plant quarterback Aaron Murray said no to the University of Florida on Thursday.
But Gator fans should be upset -- he said no to 54 other schools before Florida.
Having narrowed his college choice down to Florida or Georgia, Murray is going to be a Bulldog. The news came at a highly attended press conference held at Plant High on Thursday morning.
Murray took over for Robert Marve, now at Miami, as Plant quarterback and proceeded to threaten or break all of Marve's passing records.
In the case of the record for TD passes in a season, 51, Murray set the state mark. He had more than that many schools offer scholarships, 56 to be exact.
Rivals has him as the 3rd rated QB in the country. He took over for Marve at Plant when Marve went to Miami. I have seen him live and he is very talented. He really wanted to come to Florida from what I heard, but with Cam and Brantley on the team he wanted to go to UGA instead.
