I dunno, isn't the point of the Madden Curse that whomever appears on the Madden cover ends up as a fantasy bust?

I'd say a player who retired before the season is pretty much guaranteed to be a fantasy bust

The Madden Curse is undeniable now. Even John Madden's unadulterated love for Brett Favre, 3 time MVP, Super Bowl champ, could not keep the Curse from bringing him back to finish him off.

My prediction: Torn ACL in Week 2 against the Jets' arch enemies the Patriots, ending his season and career.
