Forte should run away with this after the Benson news I think. This might make me rethink him at 4 actually. I don't think that even if Chicago is able to keep Benson around this season that they will want him around any longer and Forte will become the featured back much sooner.

Just because he has the job doesn't mean he will be a good back. The bears offensive line still is not great, they play a tough schedule, and IMO Forte is not that good of a back

What makes Forte "not that good" of a runningback in your opinion?
I tire of the he-went-to-a-small-school-and-played-nobody-in-college argument, by the way.

That is very much a part of it, but since you don't like them one I will offer a couple other opinions. He only ran well for one year in college, despite being getting three years of chances. He was injured his junior year, which goes to some of his health concerns. I have watched a good amount of his film and he doesn't have that burst through the hole that a good back needs. He does not have the explosion you want from a back and he is also not very elusive. Forte tries to run over people because he can't get around them or make them miss and unless you are Mike Alstott or Jerome Bettis that won't work that well.
He is a good blocker and has great hands out of the backfield, which makes me think he would be a good guy to pair with another back and have him be a 3rd down/Short yardage back.
So it's Forte? The next one should be interesting....
