Fire investigators examined the ruins of some of most famous sets in Hollywood on Monday to find the cause of spectacular blaze that tore through the back lot of Universal Studios as firefighters struggled to overcome low water pressure and an inept sprinkler system.
The theme park was scheduled to reopen Monday after Sunday's fire destroyed its popular King Kong attraction, the courthouse square from "Back to the Future," and a streetscape featured in "Spiderman 2" and "Transformers."
Low water pressure forced firefighters to get reserves from lakes and ponds at Universal -- a theme park and working studio complete with streetscapes and soundstages.
