Universal Studios Hollywood fire

Not the courthouse square!!!! :,-(

Fire investigators examined the ruins of some of most famous sets in Hollywood on Monday to find the cause of spectacular blaze that tore through the back lot of Universal Studios as firefighters struggled to overcome low water pressure and an inept sprinkler system.

The theme park was scheduled to reopen Monday after Sunday's fire destroyed its popular King Kong attraction, the courthouse square from "Back to the Future," and a streetscape featured in "Spiderman 2" and "Transformers."

Low water pressure forced firefighters to get reserves from lakes and ponds at Universal -- a theme park and working studio complete with streetscapes and soundstages.

seems like such a big attraction would be a little more prepared for something like this. The fact that they had to get reserves from a lake is a bit crazy. :-?

Walton & Johnson said that they interview Michael J Fox about the fire to the Back to the Future set and he was visibly shaken.

Not for me mikus....good job. :-b

Sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Good to know they have duplicate copies of the lost films and footage at another location. :-?

Relax, some celebrities on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards on the other side of Universal were cracking jokes that evening while the fire was still blazing. :-b
