We just dodged a pretty wicked storm. It's been really humid here the past few days, and tonight several storms rolled through Nebraska. The first one just skipped by north of here, with a tornado causing damage about 12 miles from the house. We had a TON of rain, like so much that my back yard is flooded even though we're on top of the hill. The street looked like a river. I had the family in the basement bathroom huddled with the shower with the couch cushions all around while I was at the TV and the door watching the reports and checking the sky.
Omaha, I hope you guys are OK. You're probably under cover as I type this, so check in with the all-clear when you can.

Living where I live, it's kind of odd that I've never even seen a tornado. Last night during the thick of it a funnel cloud dropped out above the fields behind my house, but it went back in before touching down. A town about 15 miles northwest of here had baseball-size hail. Think of how strong that updraft has to be to create hail that size. Amazing.
The crummy part is that we’re due for another round tonight, so it could be bad again.
Speaking of grilling, I brought my new grill in last night. I'm hearing baseball-sized hail and I'm thinking... I'm not letting this thing get bashed up after one week! My wife gave me a weird look when I brought it in the house, but she was holding her laptop at the time.
Further on the topic of grills (maybe should be merged ), I'm buying and allowing my guys here at work to grill over lunch. I get to be cool boss for a day or two. Then back to normal.
