It has been crazy hot this summer, with an unusually long unbroken high-humidity period. We've had extended high temps throughout July which, combined with the humidity, have given us heat indexes between the 100-115 degree range for the better part of the last three weeks. It's been pretty brutal, and outdoor activity has dwindled to a minimum as a result.
Luckily for us, at least, we're due for some rain and lower temps in the next several days. The 10-day forecast looks like early June more than early August. We need the break. Gardens and lawns are dying, and I'm sick of melting into a puddle whenever I step outside.
How 'bout them Huskers!
