I like the show, but Survivorman is better, IMO. He tapes his own stuff and carries all the cameras around while trying to survive in the wilderness for a week. They're both entertaining though.

Survivorman is also a jazz musician haha. His show is actually realistic. If he doesn't get food, he doesn't eat. If Bear doesn't get food he says "Well, if you catch a bird here is how you cook it".
Wow. I just lost a ton of respect for Bear after watching that. Wouldn't the producers of the show suspect that someone would recognize that area and exploit him?
I do know in the disclaimer it says some scenes are "fabricated" to show what you should do in the situation without having to pose harm to Bear or the crew...but jumping over volcanic rock that happens to be on the side of an interstate? Just flag a car down and catch a ride.

Lame-o
Makes me not like it even more.
Keep some things in mind, not that I'm an enormous fan or anything, but how entertaining would it be if my simply flagged down a car? Anyone knows to do that if you can. But if you happen to be in a dangerous situation as he obviously only simulating, then his commentary might come in useful. He's got a crew following him around so certain dangers that Survivorman might take he isn't going to. I have no doubt in my mind that Grylles knows what he is talking about and still enjoy the show. Even if I'm watching it and realize he actually taping in my backyard.

Nah, I worded it right, just funny. Some dangers that Survivorman might take, Grylles won't because Survivorman doesn't have other people he would liable for, while Grylles does.
Why would Bear take less risks than Survivor Man. If Survivor Man hurts himself badly he needs to deal with it by himself. If Bear hurts himself his team can go get aid for him.
I'm pretty sure the cameramen would recognize the aspect of danger that would come with filming a survival show.
