I currently subscribe to Sunday ticket through Direct TV. With the cost of everything under the sun going up these days I was considering cancelling it. I was just wondering if any of you have called Direct TV to cancell and been offered a lower rate. I maybe able to keep it if that was the case. Just wondering ? Thanks..
Start- 1QB,2WR,2RB,1Flex,1K,1DEF Standard Scoring, except bonus points for long plays and defense which is 10 pts for a TD, 3 pts for a sk, int or fum rec. 8 team keeper league
I don't have Direct TV, I have RCN cable. When they put out new promotional deals we call them and can argue/banter for our current subscription to match what they are offering to new customers. I'd imagine Direct TV would work the same way.
Thanks to deluxe_247 for sig, he is welcome to sail with the Captain too! I will win all of the fantasy cafe games.....next year
I personally sponge off my Dad's Sunday ticket subscription, but I do know that DirecTV is notoriously stingy. They'll work with you to try to get you to keep the service, but you're more likely to get extra upgrades thrown in to your service rather than an actual price cut on the Football package. Something like Free HBO for 6 months or some kinda package upgrade for a limited amount of time...

Call 'em and tell 'em ya think it's unfair they only charge us $100 for it in Canada - I think you pay a lot more for it don't ya?
Actually, maybe that's not such a good idea - they might boost our price!

Actually Directv is notoriously the complete opposite, and is has been known as one of the companies most likely to barter with you.
However, I've heard some rumors that in the last couple months with the huge lead they've gathered in HD content that they've become less willing to deal then before.
I had DirectTV for all of last years football season and have had Sunday Ticket for numerous years (2 or 3?), but finally switched to IO because they wanted $50 per HD box or something, I don't know if that was it or not but it was something ridiculous. I now have IO and I really want to have Sunday Ticket again so I hope IO comes up with something along the lines.
They won't budge on the price. They'll just remind you that you will have to pay more if you change your mind because you won't get the renew price. You might score some free stuff like free showtime or a free DVR upgrade. The price is pretty set.
Thankfully, my Cowboys have been on the national broadcasts the past couple of years so I have only missed a few games. The NFL really screwed up when they gave it to Direct TV and cut out cable.
You need a landline phone to get the NFL package. How many people only have cell phones now? I am one of them.

They just tell you that. I've never had any of my receivers hooked up to a phone line. I still can't think of anything bettter than Directv's Sunday Ticket. They could double the price and I'd still pay it.
