I worked 60+ a week to put myself through college, I missed out on a lot as well. Don't recommend it. I have something else about high school I wouldn't recommend, but I won't post it here.
Dan, in MN, I don't know about other places, 16 is our cutoff. Under 16 you can't work longer than 8 hours in a day and you can't work after 6 or 7PM on a school night, i forget which. I used to be a personnel director. Once you are 16, you can put in those hours if you want. Not sure what it is in other places. You can also get permission from parents to go beyond those. Granted this was the better part of a decade ago, no idea what's what now.
