Fifth human foot in one year washes ashore along B.C. coast
THE CANADIAN PRESS

VANCOUVER - A fifth human foot has washed ashore in southwestern B.C., and this time it's a left one.

Police say two people out for a walk spotted a left foot floating in water off Westham Island on Monday morning. Four other feet have washed up on shorelines along islands in B.C. in the last year; all have been right feet wearing socks and shoes.

Const. Sharlene Brooks of the Delta Police said officials are working with the BC Coroner's office to see if this foot is linked to any other partial remains recovered in the province.

Westham Island is at the mouth of the Fraser River, about 25 kilometres south of Vancouver.

While the similarities to the other found feet is strong, she said there's no indication this foot is related to the other cases.

yeah when i was at lunch the place that i was in had cnn on and they ran the headline as "Something afoot in Canada?".gotta love the "news".

While the similarities to the other found feet is strong, she said there's no indication this foot is related to the other cases.

so from this statement can i gleen that losing a foot is a common occurrence in this area? how can they not be related?because it was a left instead of a right? we only have two after all perhaps he just ran out of rights that day.

So are the fish eating the rest of the people, leaving just the feet? I know the Brits are known for their bad teeth. Are Canadians known for their bad feet?

Here's an update:

B.C. forensic expert says mysterious feet may be linked to one accident

(CBC) - A forensic expert at Simon Fraser University said it's unlikely all five feet, which have washed up on B.C.'s south coast, belong to people who died separately.

"It's strange that we had a glut of a whole bunch at once," said Gail Anderson, who studies the decomposition of human bodies.

Four men's right feet, each wearing a sock and sneaker, have been discovered in the province since August.

A woman's right foot was found on the uninhabited Kirkland Island in the Fraser River in May, just a few kilometres from Westham Island where Delta police found the fifth foot Monday.

Three other feet washed up in the Gulf Islands between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Last August, feet were discovered on Gabriola and Jedediah islands and, in February, another foot was found on Valdes Island.

"Maybe if a boat or a plane has gone down, something's disturbed it, a current or another boat hitting it or a dredger moved it so that the body parts are coming free and are being washed ashore," Anderson said.

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense at all. Something is definitely fishy with the whole thing.
