$250 12-Team Auction Fantasy Football League

Postby Schneed10 » Sat Jun 21, 2008 9:20 pm

I am starting up a $250 Auction Fantasy Football League. So far I have four players (as of 6/21/2008) and need eight more.

It would be Auction style on ESPN.com (free private league), drafting online, with 12 teams. This would not be a keeper or dynasty. Entry fee would be $250. Scoring and rosters would be pretty traditional:

1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 Team D/ST
1 K
7 Bench

Offense
6 pts per Passing, Rushing, or Receiving TD
1 pt per 25 pass yards, 1 pt per 10 rushing/receiving yards
2 points per 2-pt conversion
-2 for turnovers
NO points per reception

Defense/ST
1 pt per sack
2 pts per turnover, safety, or block kick
6 points per defensive or special teams TD
Points Allowed 0 points (10)
Points Allowed 1-6 points (7)
Points Allowed 7-13 points (4)
Points Allowed 14-20 points (1)
Points Allowed 21-27 points (0)
Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1)
Points Allowed 35+ points (-4)

Kicking
Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3)
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3)
Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3)
Field Goals 40-49 Yards (4)
Field Goals 50+ Yards (5)
Point After Attempt Made (1)

Prize breakdown would be as such (100% payout):

1st (Playoff Tourney Winner) - $1800
2nd (Playoff Tourney Runner Up) - $700
3rd (Playoff Tourney) - $250
Team with Most Points during Regular Season - $250

Trades would be regulated through league voting process, needing 6 out of 12 league members to veto in order to strike a deal down. In the case of a veto, votes will be made public.

If interested, please email me at schneed10@verizon.net, or reply to this thread. I can provide more details.

Thanks.

I've run plenty of leagues before, but never one where I needed to solicit for participants in a forum like this. I can give you plenty of references, but in the interests of full disclosure, must mention that they're all at least acquaintances of mine, if not close friends. Here are a couple I've played with:

alord2@hotmail.com
brian_kline@comcast.net

Amongst my core group of fantasy players, only a portion are game for a $250 auction league. So I'm here recruiting for the remaining spots in the league.

Good questions. If you are concerned about the trust issues inherent to sending in a $250 check to someone you don't know, I can tell you that I will provide a written list of rules, rosters, prize payouts, and trade review policies prior to you sending in your money. You'll have my name, address, and telephone number if you need to contact me before sending in an entry fee. I'm prompt with payouts and can foresee no circumstance where paying out the prizes would present a financial problem in any way.

In addition, the trade review process will use a majority rules process. 6 votes against a trade will constitute grounds for veto. The Commish (me) will have no ability to press a button and automatically veto, I will only have one out of the 12 votes. In the event that a veto occurs, votes will be made public.

If you're concerned that I'm a fantasy newbie, don't be. I've been playing avidly since 1999.

Let me know if you're interested. Thanks for reading.

I am interested and probably would have one more guy that would do it. Have you picked a date for the draft? That would be my main concern. If you have a date that you are looking at, it would be good to be able to look into it. How many do you have right now? I was thinking of starting a couple similar leagues but just use ESPN's standard scoring and rosters. Would you be interested in joining a couple more?
