Now I know many of you are going to poke fun and say I'm a little too brazen for this profession...
but I'm going to become a police officer! I start the police academy on July 9th. This has long been a dream of mine and I've been trying to get a job in this field for 5 years. On my 7th attempt I finally got through. Persistence really does pay off, just don't quit until your dream is yours!
No reason to make fun, it's a noble profession serving and protecting the public. I've actually been thinking about pursuing a career with the sheriffs dept. in corrections, thats what my dad did after he was out of the military. Anyway congrats and good luck.
Congrats and like Metroid already said it is an honorable profession. Definitely not a profession I would sneer at because of the sacrifice it entails and the fact that 90% of police officers could probably whoop my ass.
Congrats man. Thats a big step and I've heard some of my Dad's stories from the academy, so you're in for a tough/fun ride, but its worth it. PS, make sure you buy yourself a Surefire G2L to impress all the cop buddies

I bet you're glad you didn't whoop all those people's asses and get arrested. I'm pretty sure you can't be a cop with an assault conviction on your record.
