new 16 to 20 team CBS $45 partial keeper league

Postby mmgoldman21 » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:41 pm

E-mail me at if you are interested in playing in this league. Read below for details of all the rules. There is a group of players I run other fantasy leagues with ready to play, and I am still looking for about 5 more owners to have a really big league of between 16 and 24 teams.

Entry fee is $45. This needs to be paid to me by August 1. You can pay via paypal or e-mail me for other arrangements. All but $80 cbs league fees will be paid back to winners. With 24 teams in the league, there will be $1000 paid back to winners. (See Winnings below)

The draft will be an extended slow draft starting around August 5. You will have up to 24 hours for each pick. The CBS site will automatically send you an e-mail to notify that it's your turn to pick.

With 16 to 24 people in the draft, if you are next to draft, or only a few picks away, please set up a draft queue and click on auto pilot so that when the person before you drafts it will automatically draft for you too.

If we do not finish the draft by the start of the football season, there will be one night (around Sept. 4) right before the season where the draft will change to a fast live draft with 60 seconds for each pick.

Teams will be randomly broken up into 4 divisions of 4 to 6 teams each with 2 conferences. There will be 4 to 5 matchups or “games” each week for each of the 13 regular season weeks. You will play each non conferences team about 2 times, each conference team about 3 times, and each division team about 4 times.

Playoffs will run from weeks 14-17. Note that there is only a $2 difference between winning in week 17 so essentially the playoffs end week 16. There will 4 to 5 different playoffs brackets with a champion of each bracket. If there are 24 teams the playoff brackets are described below. This will be adjusted if there are less teams. 2 playoff brackets will consist of 8 teams and run for 3 weeks (14-16), 2 playoff brackets will consist of 16 teams and run for 4 weeks (14-17), and 1 playoff bracket will consist of all 24 teams and run for 4 weeks (14-17) (top 8 teams receive week 14 bye).

Bracket 1: “Top 8 Overall”
Bracket 2: “Top 4 from each Conference”
Bracket 3: “Top 16 Overall”
Bracket 4: “Top 4 from each Division” (Playoff division winners are decided in week 15)
Bracket 5: “Top 8 from each Conference” (Playoff conference winners are decided in week 16)

WINNINGS: ($1000 total) This is for 24 teams, it will be adjusted if there are less teams.

Winnings below are approximates. ($8 still to be added to winnings)

There will be a $15 bonus for each regular season division winner and $5 second in each division, and a $15 bonus to each regular season conference winner and $10 second, $5 third. ($140)

Regular Season top 7 Overall. $150, $115, $85, $60, $40, $25, $15, ($490)

Playoffs ($362)

8 Team Playoff Brackets: (Weeks 14-16)

Bracket 1: “Top 8 Overall” 1st - $40, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $15 ($80)
Bracket 2: “Top 4 from each Conference” 1st - $40, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $15 ($80)

16 Team Playoff Brackets: (Weeks 14-17) (note: Week 17 winners only receive an extra $2)

Division Winners declared in week 15:
Bracket 3: “Top 4 from each Division” 1st - $22, 2nd - $20, 3rd - $17, 4th - $15 ($74)

Conference Winners declared in week 16:

Bracket 5: “Top 16 Overall” 1st - $22, 2nd - $20, 3rd - $12, 4th - $10 ($64)

Rosters will have 9 active players (QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/K/Team D). You will have 6 bench spots to use however you wish for a total of 15 players on your roster.

Lineups will lock 5 minutes prior to kickoff of each game for the week.

TD: 6 PaInt: -2 FL: -2 PaYd: 1pt for every 25yds ReYd: 1pt for every 10yds RuYd: 1pt for every 10yds FG: 0-39 3 pts, 40-49 4 pts, 50+ 5 pts MFG: 0-29 -1pt, 30-39 -.5pt XP: 1 pt MXP: -1pt 2PC: 2 pts (scoring for team D not yet determined, but it will be basic based off points against, yards against, sacks, turnovers, tds)

KEEPERS: This is for 24 teams, if we have 16 teams, you can have up to 7 keepers, with 20 teams, you can have up to 6 keepers.

You will be allowed between 0-5 keepers each year. You can keep any player, but you will lose a draft pick 1 round higher in the following year’s draft. Any player kept will be worth at least a 5th round draft pick, so if you choose to keep somebody you drafted in round 6 or later or a waiver pick up, you will lose a 5th round pick the following year. Each following year, if you choose to keep the same player, you lose a draft pick 1 round higher. Any player drafted in the first round cannot be kept any year.

The "contract" you see next to your players is the round they were "drafted" this year. You can subtract 1 to their contract and that is the round you lose next year if you keep that player. Any player with a contract of 1 cannot be kept.

For example, your 2nd round pick the first year can be kept the second year in place of a 1st round pick. The following year, that player cannot be kept again since he cannot move up 1 round again.
You can trade the following years draft picks for other draft picks or players. If you make any trade that involves losing a draft pick, you must pay next year’s entry fee at the time of the trade.

Same "Round" Keepers:

If you keep 2 or 3 players which would result in you losing the same round draft pick, you must declare what round each player is assigned to and subtract 1 for the next player(s).

For example, if you wanted to keep 3 late round draft picks which all result in losing a 5th round pick, you would have to choose which player you want in the place of your 5th round pick, 4th round and 3rd round.

The same rule applies if you trade away a pick. For example, if you do not have a 4th round pick and the keeper you want would be in place of your 4th round, you would have to keep that player in place of your 3rd round pick.

If you have multiple picks in a round through a trade, the player you keep is in place of the last pick in that round. However, you still cannot keep more than 1 player for each round. For example, if you have 3 5th round picks, you cannot keep all 3 players in place of your 5th round picks.

All trades will go through a voting process. If there are more than 4 objections to any trade, the trade will be blocked. If the same trade, or similar trade is tried again by the same two teams, I will require anybody wishing to object to the trade a second time to post to the league WHY they object.

Trades are allowed on next year's draft picks. Simply write it in the message box if you wish to trade next year's draft picks and I will keep track of it. Any trade that involves giving up something for next year (a draft pick or a good keeper) will require payment for next year's entry fee at the time of the trade.

For next year, if you know you will not want to continue in this league, please let me know as soon as you know so I can find a replacement for you.

There can also be a league vote on any scoring category you would like to see changed, removed, or added. I don't expect any major changes to the scoring categories, but adjustments can be made for next year by league majority.

You will get to choose your draft position in round 1 at the conclusion of the season. The choice of your draft position will be given based on:
#1 - Reverse total money winnings. (only applies to teams winning $15 or more) $0 won receive highest picks.
#2 – Higher average playoff finish between teams tied in money. (Better playoff finish receives first choice)
#3 – Most regular season wins. (More regular season wins receives first choice.) (The teams who do not make any playoff bracket will play every playoff week for “regular season” wins for purpose this tiebreaker for draft position.)
