i was just going through a mock draft and saw that someone picked up leinart in the 9th and followed it up the next pick w warner. i never really thought about it, but this should be good enough id say for your starting QB. you know you will have the guy who is starting that week, so no risk of not having a starter, and the QB in Ari should be good enough, especially drafting in the 9th. i usually do not draft a QB early and go with two gusy around this time anyways
are their ADP so low bc of teh risk of not starting, or are they just not good? ive never owned either, so i dont knwo what the week to week feeling is with these guys.
would you feel comfortable having these two as your starting QB?
That's a bit early for both, and it begs the question, why draft two when you can draft one? This guy just shortened his draft and his bench by one, so he didn't do himself any favors.
You're far better off taking Bulger, Delhomme or Kitna than drafting BOTH in back-to-back picks.
I don't hate the strategy. You're guaranteed to get good production out of the Arizona passing game, it's just a matter of who's tossing the rock. The only problem is that Whisenhunt did not have a problem rotating both during any game when Leinart was healthy, making it hard to really predict any sort of numbers.
Leinart goes higher because he was named the starter, but questions are still abound. How short a leash does he have? Does Warner still have the goods? Will Brenda Warner ever get a new freakin' haircut? Handcuffing them seems like a must but you're also losing depth on your roster. Theoretically you should have your QB position nailed down though.
It's just like handcuffing your RB, although I agree a tad early for both guys...I think we will see plenty of Kurt Warner this year, he just slings the rock alot better in that offense...Leinart is a guy that needs to be in a West Coast Offense, he would be great in Lane Kiffin's system in Oakland, but I don't like his fit in their offense unless Whisenhunt really gets back to the power running game...Denny Green drafted Leinart, I don't expect this new coaching staff to hand the job to him, if he comes out of the gates slow and they lose a few we will probably start to see a QB platoon again.

I agree that 9th round is a little early for them. I am willing to bet that if he had looked at how many other teams already had their starting QB, he would have seen that he could afford to wait at least another round or two to do this, since neither of these guys are going to be in high demand as backups. I wouldn't mind the strategy that much if he had done it in rounds 11 and 12, since any WRs or RBs you would get there are going to be fairly unreliable anyway. I think you can still find some decent WRs and TEs in rounds 9 and 10.
When I am thinking about platooning QBs in a 12-teamer, I usually try to time it so that I am getting the 11th starter off the board, and the 2nd backup, and maybe a flier on someone that seems to be falling. I am looking for two or three guys with a decent amount of upside - guys that have weapons to throw to, but maybe haven't proven themselves yet as fantasy studs or are coming off a down year. I kinda like the value that Delhomme, Schaub, Rodgers, and Kitna could deliver this year. Those guys will all be a bit low because you can't be sure what they are going to do, but they are boom-or-bust guys, and that's what you want if you are platooning QBs.
Leinart in the 9th is a little early, and Warner in the 10th is just awful. I've done over 9000 10-team 15 round mocks this year and I think I've seen Warner taken once.
