I would substitute Stafford for Moreno personally, and possibly Harrell for Crabtree, but I think your top-10 is right on for a pre-season call

Moreno is getting all the hype of the 2nd coming of Hershel Walker at the moment. He's certainly a preseason Top 5.

He is a very good running back and the Georgia O-Line is very good. Stafford is a great QB, which will make teams have to play both the pass and the run.

You may want to reconsider Chase Daniel as a second-tier candidate. He should improve on last season's numbers if for no other reason than that he doesn't have to play Oklahoma in the regular season (the only team he threw more INTs vs. TDs against).

Daniel could very easily finish second in the voting to the winner - Tim Tebow.

I think Matthew Stafford is the most overrated Heisman candidate. Here's the big 5 QB heisman candidates numbers from last year


Tebow - 66.9% 3286 yrds 32-6. 895-23
Daniel - 68.2% 4306 yrds 33-11. 253-4
Bradford - 69.5% 3121 yrds 36-8. 7-0
White 66.7% 1724 yrds 14-4. 1335-14
Stafford 55.7% 2523 yrds 19-10. 191-3

He doesn't lead any of the other Heisman QB candidates in a single major category.

Sure, there are better defenses that Stafford played last year than the Big 12 boys or Pat White but only White had the help that Stafford did (Stafford had Thomas Brown/Knoshown Moreno, Pat White had Steve Slaton/Noel Devine - none of the other big three had much help from their ground games).

Matthew Stafford came in as a huge recruit, has tons of potential, but until he produces I'd put him as the #5 QB in the Heisman race.
