Problem is that Boldin's contract won't expire for another three years. Who cares if he doesn't resign with Arizona, they will still have Fitz and by then they can have drafted a replacement.
I'm pretty surprised Urlacher got what he did this offseason. When you sign a long term contract like Boldin/Urlacher/Plaxico did, there is very little room for the player to negoiate. It is on the goodwill of the team to give them a bump if their play improves. Why is Boldin surprised that Arizona wants to sign the players that it needs to sign before him? Arizona is a POS franchise, this is the type of stunt you should expect them to pull.
Fitz got his deal because the Cards were screwed capwise if they didn't. The other guys getting deals would have been gone. Boldin can complain this year, he can complain next year, and they can trade him the following year and it wouldn't even be a big deal to Arizona. You really have to respect them in their stupidity.
PS- If I'm Arizona, I wouldn't trade Boldin to Philly for anything less than a 1st and Lito and probably another pick depending on Boldin's performance. Maybe like a 5th which could escalate to a 3rd. Premium WRs in the NFL with no blemishes are one of the rarest commodities there are.
