League Settings - need some opinions

Postby twistedude » Mon Jul 28, 2008 12:38 pm

I was hoping to get some opinions on my league settings. As you can see, there's .5 PPR, but everything else is pretty standard. I had one owner suggest that my stat categories devalue QB's too much. Your thoughts? Suggestions?

Some people like 4 point passing TDs, some don't. It definitely closes the gap between the tier 1 guys and the Tier 2 guys, so you are more likely to see RBs dominating the early rounds then with 6 point passing (since Brady/Manning/Romo get devalued). Its not a bad thing, per se, just reality.

Personal opinion, I dont like the arbitrary bonuses for yardage marks. In your format a guy who rushes for 100 yards gets 15 points, better then 50% more then someone with 99 yards (9 points). Just seems to reward guys an excessive amount for what amounts to a regular performance and hitting an arbitrary yardage mark.

I agree. I am not a fan of bonuses.

But, as far as devaluing QBs, that is nonsense. Sort your players by 2007 stats in the player section of your league website. How do the top players at each position stack up against each other?

It doesn't de-value QB's, I believe it balances the positions better. You would otherwise have an overwhelmingly QB-dominated league with 6-points per TD. I also agree, do away with the silly bonuses.

I''ve eliminated the bonuses as suggested, and left everything else the same. Thanks guys.
