My big board

Postby pattylinboy » Mon Jul 28, 2008 8:29 pm

what do you think?
PPR, redraft league. Got lazy with the explanations lol.

MY BIG BOARD
1. LaDainian Tomlinson- It’s a no-brainer. No explanation really needed.
2. Brian Westbrook- Here’s where it gets interesting. Adrian Peterson might be the consensus number two here, but I don’t believe in it. Consistency is a big issue for him and AP had two great games last year. You take that away and he gives you around 68 yards per game. I like Westbrook’s chances this year, especially in PPR leagues. With a healthy McNabb and an offense heavily relying on him, Westbrook will deliver.
3. Steven Jackson- His upside is tremendous. You also know what you are getting, barring any injuries this year. There might be some questions here and there, but we all saw what Jackson is capable of two years ago.
4. Adrian Peterson- See description above. You might draft him just for trade bait, which isn’t such a bad idea, but I’m not buying AP’s out-of-the-world statistics everyone is projecting him to put up.
5. Joseph Addai- The best of the rest. After Addai, there is a dropoff in value for RBs. Take him before it’s too late.
6. Frank Gore- There’s actually a few other candidates that can go at this spot, but Gore is bound to excel in Martz’s new system.
7. Clinton Portis
8. Marion Barber
9. Tom Brady
10. Randy Moss
11. Marshawn Lynch
12. Terrell Owens
13. Ryan Grant
14. Larry Johnson
15. Peyton Manning
16. Reggie Wayne
17. Willis McGahee
18. Andre Johnson
19. Braylon Edwards
20. Maurice Jones-Drew
21. Tony Romo
22. Larry Fitzgerald
23. Marques Colston
24. Jamal Lewis
25. TJ Houshmanzadeh
26. Torry Holt
27. Drew Brees
28. Steve Smith
29. Chad Johnson
30. Reggie Bush
31. Plaxico Burress
32. Brandon Marshall
33. Michael Turner
34. Anquan Boldin
35. Jonathan Stewart
36. Carson Palmer
37. Laurence Maroney
38. Wes Welker
39. Brandon Jacobs
40. Ronnie Brown
41. Jason Witten
42. Santonio Holmes
43. Marvin Harrison
44. Roy Williams

At first glance, and that is all I have time for now, I see a glaring mistake in ranking of Reggie Bush. You have him at 30 and I would put him in the top 15 with top 7 potential. You cannot ignore 73 grabs last season and more likely this year. Also, are you a Lions fan? The last part of your 50 is littered with Lions.
Roy is iffy to be on the list, but Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith have no business in the top 50. IMO

This "big" board ain't very big. You'd only get 4 picks off it in a 12 team league before it would be exhausted.

Yes he is. Take a look at how many receptions Reggie Bush has had the last two years. In a PPR league Bush is a Top 15 player.

i dont get whats with all the hype about Reggie Bush. Every year he has high expectations and then he highly underachieves. PPR in my league is only .25 so I dont think it will be that big of a difference.

1,000-1,200 yds rushing and receiving, plus 7-9 TD's is decent production for an RB2 these days (and as mentioned, his value increases in PPR with 75-85 receptions with most PPR leagues giving .5 pts/reception). He's only entering his 3rd season and while he hasn't lived up to the lofty expectations people had of him coming out of college, he still hasn't peaked yet - he could easily slide into RB1 numbers.

(and I agree, 50 players is not a big board!)
