Vikes Training Camp - AD looking better than last year.

Supposedly he is much improved. He's matured a lot after getting a full year to learn the ropes. His cuts are, I guess, noticeably quicker. My guess is he is more acclimated to the NFL speed now. He's looking very good at picking up blitzes and blocking. He should be a much better player this year than last and play more passing downs... Which shouldn't be hard being he played almost none last year This is of course assuming he can avoid injuries. It is also assuming Childress and Bevell learn how to coach football and learn how to use AD.

I haven't gone to camp yet, this is from the radio reports and friends that have gone.

This is to be expected, AD is a high character guy and has a VERY high work ethic...I remember Darren Sharper was talking about him in the weight room Monday after a game doing squats like it was the summer time and working out harder then the vets...He wants to be the best in the game, he isn't the type that sits back and goes off natural ability, thats the scary part.

I've been fortunate enough to have Priest and LJ in their prime and now I have AD. I don't have children of my own yet but I imagine this is what it feels like somewhat. Whenever the words Adrian Peterson are spoken are typed I just grin.

I don't think 2K is far off at all mooch. Of course he needs to stay on the field first but if all systems are go 2K is certainly in reach with his talent.

Vikings watchers are calling RB Adrian Peterson a "far more complete player" than he was last season.
He's a much better blocker in passing situations, has improved as a receiver, and has worked on being a more patient runner. Running backs coach Eric Bieniemy notes the giant step forward in Peterson's professionalism and understanding of the offense. Peterson isn't going to give the Vikings any reason to take him off the field, but Chester Taylor figures to maintain a role in the offense.

My only concern outside of injuries is an LJ-like 9 in the box scenario. The intermediate passing game has got to improve or he is just going to have a tough time against good defenses - and they play their fair share this year. Teams have a lot more film on what that offense looks like when he is in the backfield. Defenses are going to stack the box, and the good ones will have success. That is the only reason I have LT first.
