C. Johnson says he will fight Palmer Tue, 29 Jul 2008 15:53:05 -0700
TSN reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson (ankle) said him and QB Carson Palmer are going to fight. "Me and Carson, I mean, we're fighting and bickering a lot and he's pissing me off," Johnson said. "But other than that, you know, it's cool." The reporter doing the interview then laughed at Johnson's response but Johnson said he was serious. "Why are you laughing?" he asked. "I'm serious." The reporter responded saying it was hard to tell if he was serious. "I'm serious," Johnson stated again. "Carson and I are going to fight in camp. I'm just telling you now. We're going to frustrate each other, and I'm going to hit him in his knee - the bad one… We have a great relationship but sometimes you fight."
i saw this interview on espn a few days ago...it honestly didnt seem like he was kidding when he was saying it, but its just so far out there you cant really believe he means it. he is just trying to stir up trouble, i believe.
while he might be serious he does deadpan pretty well when you know he is joking. guess it'll be a wait and see situation but i would be surprised to see them come to blows.
Oh c'mon. I don't care how deadpan he played it, you gotta know he was kidding. I bet you he and Palmer laughed their @$$es off about it at dinner that night. Chad's saying: "Watch, they're gonna put it on ESPN and everything".

Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion
I agree that he probably won't go smashing Palmer's knees. With all the problems they have in Cincinnati and the fact that he didn't do a very good job of having the reporter understand his joke, he shouldn't be very surprised if this is made into something bigger than it really is. It's still a stupid thing to say regardless.
