thoughts on draft strategy for Keeper league?

Postby LT2 » Fri Aug 08, 2008 12:57 pm

Currently I'm looking at keeping Willie Parker, Ryan Grant and Tony Romo from my roster. I also have Anquan Boldin as keeper eligible for one more season should I choose him over one of those. I'm a little concerned about Parker's touches/performance in PIT.

So here's the dilema - I have the 4th pick in the draft (snaking order) - I feel like I should take another top RB (Peterson and Gore are keepers so, LT, SJax, Westy and Addai are the top 4 guys) - but by not having another pick until the 17th spot, odds are that I'll miss out on snagging a Moss, Wayne or TO. So if I take a RB, I have 3 quality guys, but can only start 2 each week. However if I kept Boldin over Parker, then I'd have Grant, a top 4 RB, Boldin and whatever WR I can grab at pick 17 ...

please weigh in on which way you'd go.

FYI In our 10-team league, keeper eligible players are those drafted after round 3, so the top studs are FAs every year and scouting potential to draft late is important, and you can keep players for 3 seasons after drafting so everyone eventually becomes a FA. We keep 3. Standard Scoring, Qb, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DEF, no FLEX player, no PPR.

thanks in advance, leave a link

I agree with your concern about touches regarding Parker. I would recommend keeping Boldin for one year. Then concentrate on a list of RB/WR that you would like to to replace Boldin in the draft. SJackson is tempting but you have to wory about how well he will hold up on a bad team.
