I've done lynksis and netgear, and always had problems, making me talk on the phone to India for Hours at a time.
I got the Apple Airport Express. Love it.
1. Works with my PC and my Mac 2. Plug the internet in. Plug the Airport express in. Done. Forever. No calling India. 3. USB port for wireless printing (no setup required.) 4. Stereo jack for wireless music playing (through itunes. no setup required.)
I believe it is $99 though. But, well worth it in my experience.
I've set up 5 networks with lynksis(b & G) routers without a hitch.
You guys are having bad luck? I've used netgear one time because I got it for free, it has to be reset every once in awhile. Not a major problem. You can definitely get those under $75. Haven't found the need for "N", don't know what they cost.

The problem that I am having is that I keep getting an error that tells me that my Ethernet cable is not connected properly. I have followed all the instructions on the disk, from first having an ethernet cable go from my modem to the "Internet" port on my router, and then having another cable going from my computer to the 1st Ethernet port on my router. It turns on correctly and powers up, but I keep getting the same error message. Anyone know why this could be happening.
you really shouldn't need to do that anyways but it was worth a shot. have you cycled the modem power as well as the router? leave both off for about 10 minutes. if not give that a shot. you may also need to renew the ip as well but if you shouldn't if i remember. it's been a long time since i set up mine.
if all else fails shoot a post out to the guys at the lilnksys forums and they can probably help you. they alos have a FAQ thred that nay help as well.
I think I know what the problem is now, although I'm not really sure how to fix it. My modem is connected to my computer with a USB cable. When I unplug it, my internet connection goes away. The ethernet cable that is connected from my modem to the computer is not transferring the internet connection. How do I transfer the connection from the USB to the ethernet cable?
