Where does Peyton Manning's value fall this year in a 10-team league (QB scoring is 1pt/20yds passing, 6pts/TD and -2pts/INT)?
I've never been fond of drafting a QB very early, but in my 10 team keeper league (where my #6 overall pick is pretty much a mid second round pick in redraft), I may be in a spot where Manning falls to me. If I don't take him, my best options would be MJD or McGahee @ RB or Chad Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald @ WR. I am keeping Gore in the 3rd as my RB1.
So my question is this - where do you draft Manning this year? Mid-second round? Early third? Not at all - build WR and RB depth early on?
Thanks!

Does the 6pts/TD mean that passing TD's are worth 6pts? If so, then that makes a stud QB worth a little bit more. That being the case, I think you could argue using a 2nd rd pick on Manning - or 3rd pick on Romo. If you miss out of those two, then I'd just wait because those are the only 2 QB's (other than Brady who's price is too high IMO) that are a guarantee 30+ TD's.

Yes, it is 6pts per passing TD. I've always felt that whether it's 6pts per TD or 4pts per TD, that it effects all QBs equally, and you shouldn't bump them in the rankings because of this.

I don't like that way of thinking. Due to positional scarcity, if you bump up all QBs value by 50%, that makes it all that much more important to get a top QB. In other words, if they're going to put up more points than RBs or WRs, there's reason to consider drafting them before RBs and WRs. I'd still go RB first this year, but I'd think that a 6/td passing system puts Brady in the first round, and Peyton, as well as maybe Brees and Romo, in the second round.
We switched my main league to auction drafting, and honestly, I can't imagine going back.
oh sorry man, almost forgot the question. I would prefer him at the 2nd turn. end of round 2, start of round 3. At that point I feel I can get a decent RB2 or great WR1 to pair. Someone always grabs him before then though. I'm not a QB early guy, but I think a big reason for that is because people reach for them before I would...
