Just saw this, I really do not see him returning anytime soon.Could this hurt Lynch's value much?..Many consider Peters one of the best Left Tackle's in the NFL

The Bills are reportedly satisfied with their pass protection and plan to continue their hard-line stance with holdout LT Jason Peters.
Usual RT Langston Walker, who's now filling in for Peters, surrendered a sack to James Harrison in Buffalo's second exhibition game, but has mostly been steady. Peters, in search of a pay raise, hasn't practiced since 2007. Source: ESPN.com
Like there are so many adequate LTs to go around in the league.
Buffalo is playing this situation very poorly. I mean they signed this guy for a discount either last season or two seasons ago and now he performs and they won't pay him to lock him up? The guy has like 2 or 3 years left on his contract, why not sign him to a big extension and then you are done at the LT for 5+ years to come. Poor form Buffalo, sounds like a Arizona Cardinals type move.

Peters definitely desrves to be paid more. I'm just not sure Buffalo can afford to sign him. I'm pretty sure we have the cap room, but Buffalo never approaches the salary cap, ever. We're really a small-market team. I'm not sure of the exact economics of the team right now, but if we have the room, Peters definitely deserves to be paid. We need all the pass-blocking we can get with a physically limited QB....
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Buffalo slated to earn like an extra $90 million for the "Canandian tour" over the next few years? Would it be wrong to give some of the money to the cornerstone of your offensive line? You know the LT position, one of the hardest positions in all of football to fill with a quality player?
If you can't afford to max out the salary cap (cap strategy aside), why not just sell the team and rake in the hundreds of millions dollars and be done with it? If profitability is such an issue, you shouldn't be the owner of a NFL team.

Well, the Bills are in a tough spot right now. Ralph Wilson, the Bills' owner, is turning 90 in a few weeks. There is absolutely no plan whatsoever as to what happens with the franchise when he dies. There are a series of problems with the different ideas for ownership taht have been planned (do a search, it's been discussed before). Therefore, for the good of the franchise, it's kind of important to show profitability right now, that way somebody will hopefully actually want to step up and by the team. not to be a jerk, but I'd rather have a team in Buffalo in 10 years than spend big time to make the playoffs, lose money, and have no team in 5 years, if that's what it comes down to.....

A good team is a lot harder to buy/move than a crappy team.
If anything, making the playoffs will help to ensure that the team stays in Buffalo. Or at least it will increase the chances of that happening.
