Hester & Yahoo Scoring Question

Postby Eagle Baseball » Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:30 pm

Excuse me it this is a dumb question but here goes. If I have Hester on my active roster as a WR and he returns a KO/P for a touchdown do I get 6 points even though it is not a rushing/receiving touchdown or do I need to have the Bears DEF/ST to get the points?

It depends on your league settings, I believe. Most leagues I play in award Kickoff/punt returns to the individual player, which can make Hester a stud if he gets even mediocre numbers at WR this year. (1000/3, plus 5-6 return TDs is pretty good.)

Really think he gets 1,000 yards receiving this year? (Or am I reading it wrong?)

no, but he will get 1000 kick return yards this year. I had him and cribbs in one league last year, and it worked pretty well actually. problem is, they never "exploded" like a real WR would, so you need to kind of factor it in as taking a gentleman's "four" and calling it a day from that slot. nice thing is, you probably won't get bageled either.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.

Nah, I don't think he gets 1000 yards. I just said if he gives you a mediocre year at WR, if you get return TD points for individual players, it sorta balances out.

If you get return yards too he's a beast however.

It all depends on your settings. Our leagues grant the return TDs to the individual players, while other leagues only award them to the team defense/special teams unit (and I bet there are leagues that award to both)...just double check your league settings.

If you are in a Yahoo! public league, return touchdowns do count for six points.

I'm almost certain that unless your leagues doesn't award points for touchdowns then he will get the points. I don't think I know any leagues that don't give points for TDs.

Where this is more of an issue is on Def/ST. Yahoo default doesn't award points to Ds for return TDs.
