Here are the official rules. I really need to get an owner so if you're the least bit interested, or have questions, please let me know. I know everyone in the group, so this league should be around to stay!

Scoring Rules: See scoring system in the rules for all applicable scoring rules.

Practice Squad: 6 - Rookies ONLY
Injury Spots: 3. This is for only NFL IR players, not just anyone with a red medical square next to their name! The commissioner will be paying attention to this for abuse. Also PUP players will be allowed on this bench. Again, the commissioner will be watching this closely. Any transgression and the owner will be notified. If they do not make the change before the 1st game of the week (or a reasonable amount of time in the commissioner's viewpoint) the commissioner will adjust the inappropriate lineup as necessary.
Roster Lock: 5 minutes before each game for each players. Add/Drops will lock 5 minutes before the 1st game on Sundays (see rules section for exact details).
Draft: Auction Style Draft at fantasyauctioneer.com. Auction Nomination Order will be selected randomly by fantasyauctioneer.com. The Auction will have a cap of $300 which will be for the 17 starting players, 10 reserves, and any add/drops during the season, so you must use your money wisely and not spend it all at the draft. Again, you will ONLY have $300 for the entire year so you need to save some $ in order to pick up free agents. Remember, the FAAB money is completely separate, not in addition to. So if you auction all $300, you WILL NOT be able to pick up any players unless you make a trade bringing your team to a salary where you are under $300.
Transaction: Unlimited add/drops. We will use a FAAB of $260 for the year for add/drops. Minimum bid will be $1. All long term contracts (2 years or more) must be made known through the league website at the time of the acqusition. If no email is sent after the player is put on the roster (after a reasonable amount of time, and for sure before the player plays in a game for the owner) the commissioner will assume a $1 contract for 1 year only. This will be final and will not change once the Commissioner assigns the contract.
Transactions regarding contracts: Owners may ONLY drop players with a 1 year contract. Any player with a 2+ year contract CANNOT be dropped no matter what circumstances (an exception will be made for retirement only). So if Roy Williams was auctioned at $5, and signed to a 1 year contract, then at any time, his owner may drop him into the Free Agent Pool. At this time, that players contract value will remain what it was when he was dropped. Therefore, if Roy Williams was dropped at $5, another owner must accept his $5 contract for the rest of the year in order to pick him up.
Transactions during Playoffs: At time of playoffs, the free agency pool will be SHUTOFF. Therefore, no one will be able to add/drop players, not those in the playoffs, nor those that did not make the playoffs. This is to eliminate any unfair advantage for each team.
Trade Vetoes: The commissioner will assign a veto committee of 4 owners, with 2 alternates to vote on all "questionable" trades. The commissioner will be the tie-breaker for a vote if necessary. Again, this committee will vote in all questionable trades in the commissioner's opinion. If the commissioner puts a trade through and an uproar occurs from the league, the commissioner reserves the right to reverse the trade if the veto committee does in fact veto it. This is to keep the league fair and in good working order, but the commissioner does not want to inhibit the trade process, but wants to protect the league from collusion and clear stupidity.
Contract Amounts: 1 5 year contract, 2 4 year contracts, 5 3 year contracts, 10 2 year contracts, and unlimited 1 year contracts.
Contract Rules: A player's contract value will remain the same throughout the terms of their contract. There will be no player escalations. Therefore, if Roy Williams is signed to a 5 year $20 contract, then his salary will be $20 in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
Once a player's contract is expired, an owner is not allowed to renew the contract. However, each owner is allowed 2 Franchise Tags. There can only be 2 franchise tags per team at any time (no franchise players can be traded), so it is not 2 per year, but 2 PERIOD. If the owner so wishes, he can assign the franchise tag to a player to a new 3 year contract at an increased contract value of 10% (rounded up as necessary). Once the 3 year franchise tag contract is up, that player is released and no additional franchise tag can be assigned. Therefore if at the end of the 2008 season, an owner franchise tags Brady and LT, then they cannot use another franchise tag until those 3 year contracts are over at which time Brady and LT will go back into the free agent auction pool.
Not all contracts have to be signed at the time of the auction. Therefore, owners can issue long-term contracts to free agent pickups, as well as players acquired through trade. A traded player can be issued a longer contract that what the player previously had ONLY at the time of acquisition; however, a short contract length cannot be issued. Therefore, if a player with a 2 year contract is acquired through trade, the owner will have the option to issue that player a 3, 4, or 5 year contract if they have it available.
Playoffs: 2 week playof period starting week 15. The top record in each division will make the playoffs as well as the next top record in the league.
Payouts: Cost of website: $130, cost of auction, $25
1st Place: $295 (will change if 10 team league)
2nd Place: $100
3rd Place: $50
