Kevin Walter tearing it up pre season

Are both facts purely that Andre is out, or will Walter retain serviceable WR3 status come the regular season?

I have him tabbed as a nice sleeper pick. Looks like he and Schaub have a nice rapport.

He's a nice big target, and Schaub is going to be throwing a lot this year. That offense is going to need a lot of short throws to keep the chains moving in the absence of a running game. With all of the attention Andre Johnson commands, I see Walter having good value in PPR leagues. But minimal value in standard scoring. He won't see the end zone enough.

AJ is the man when he is in there, and everyone comes 2nd, but Walter is worth a look because AJ's health is an issue at times, and Schaub likes to look Walters way quite a bit out there...I was at the game today, Schaub looked really good and Walter ran some great routes, but its hard to ignore the big play ability Jacoby Jones possesses, i don't know if he will develop fast enough to where he is the #2 WR next year, but he played from the slot and outside 2nite and looked great, I came away more impressed with him which isn't a surprise because I had him pegged as a dynasty sleeper long before...I like his long term value the most, but for this year Walter is worth a late pick in redrafts, if AJ goes down again Walter is worth starting every game he misses.
