Donnie Avery...any thoughts?..

Postby bryan1327 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 8:01 am

I did not see the Rams game the other night but did read Avery had a pretty good game running in the slot position, for coming back from injury and little training camp..5 catches for 65 yards and they said that Bulger seemed to target him quite a bit..

So were do you all think he stands now? I got him kinda late in a dynasty league draft, when folks were scared off by the cracked pelvis..

I drafted him in my dynasty before the injury, I was one of the few who was very high on the guy...I think he has alot of Santonio Holmes in his game, and he looks like he is starting to pick it up a little better now...Ideally the Rams want him to take the slot role this year, and he is a perfect fit for it, but he will have to stay healthy to hold off Burton who has had a nice camp also...I am not expecting alot this year, but I think he has alot of upside, since Holt is there he won't be thrown out there and expected to lead the offense, but if he picks up the system fast he could take that #2 job because Bennett hasn't been looking too hot.

Kid is lightning fast and will really stretch defences - great pick in dynasty leagues and should even have value as a late round flier in redrafts.
