Postby dream_017 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 9:35 am

Here is your chance fellas. The Lions are offering single game tickets for the first time in years. They go on sale Monday at 10:30. I'll look for a link, but you guys may have seen it on the broadcast last night.

If you do get a chance to go, hit me up before the game ;-D

I'll be sitting here

Yes, it is an NFL rule that if a game is not sold out by 72 hours prior to gametime then it is blacked-out locally. It is a black-out for a 75 mile radius.

Where did you get them? As far as I know they have been sold out with limited single game tickets available(those returned from the visiting team and such).
You are right a couple years ago the emotion was sucked out of the stadium, but it seems like some has been restored. The 6-2 start last year and more people being able to go by season ticket holders giving up their tickets.
Don't get me wrong I do like watching on TV and able to flip between games, but I really do love the live expierence(of course I do, I have Lions season tickets O:-) )

Wait a second! You made yourself perfectly clear, Dream. But, are you serious? If I lived in D town, and the game didn't sell out, I couldn't watch it on TV? I never knew that, what kind of country do we live in. Yeah, they want people at the game, but come on. :-P

Correct, there will most likely be games this year that will not be shown locally...even with the NFL ticket. It is a rule that had been around for years. Like I said we haven't had to deal with it for a while because of the new stadium and all the season ticket holders they had. The latest stat I saw was something like 92% of the games over the past 5 years have sold out...in the entire NFL, so there have been very few blackouts.

and it was put in place to get people to go to the games
