Value Based Drafting and Flex players

Postby ryount » Mon Aug 25, 2008 7:31 pm

Hi,

How do you handle flex players when setting a baseline for VBD? I am in a 12 team league that starts 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K and 1 Def. I understand about setting a baseline player, but how do you do it when you bring Flex players into the equation?

Thanks

I believe you'll rank 12x1.33 WRs, RBs, and TEs, to get your replacement level....

If you're creating static values (i.e. not an Excel sheet that will auto-calculate as the draft unfolds) just use the 24th value from the RBs, WRs, and TEs, that are not in the top 24, 24, 12, respectively, at their position.

Exactly. A different way of saying the same thing is you take out the 24 Running Backs, 24 Wide Receivers, and 12 Tight Ends who will fill those spots. Then drop all the leftovers from all of those positions into one list. The #24 guy on that list is your baseline.
