Projected Rankings and Points

Postby jbuc10951 » Wed Aug 27, 2008 3:33 pm

Why does yahoo have some players projected rankings high but projected points low? For intance Roddy White has a projected rank of 59 but his projected points for the 2008 season is only 84. Or Jerious Norwood Projected ranking of 134 and 131.32 points but Tatum Bell's projected rank is 135 and 43.9points?

Either they messed up or... it's not about the points.

What I mean is that Roddy White may only score 89 and Norwood score 131 but you have to compare their points to players at the same position and not each other. Although White may only score 89 points, when compared to other WRs, that score is actually quite good hence his position is that high. Conversely, Noorwood may be projected 131 points but compared to other RBs, that's quite low so his position is low. AS for Bell, I have no idea why a score of 43 points would give him a position just 1 below Norwood.

I "think" that they project and rank early. Then when player updates come, they update the projections but not the ratings. Yahoo! ratings are the last source to be trusted IMO.
