‘BEASTS OF THE AFC EAST’ League Constitution
Please read carefully, these shall be the rules by which this league will be governed by. By playing, it is understood that you have read these and have agreed to abide by such.
This is a re-draft league, 12 team H2H, with a randomized draft order, run on Yahoo’s server. It will always be open to a possibility of 14 teams, if the interest exists in the future.
Buy-in is $50, payable via Pay Pal or Money Order/Check. The Co-Commissioner is also the League Treasurer and shall accept all payments.
For new players, payment is due BEFORE THE DRAFT. I am more lenient with returning players as long as they drop the Treasurer an email and make arrangements.
This league was established in 2007.

This year’s draft will be live on August 30, 2008 at 7 pm ET/ 4pm pt. If you cannot attend, I encourage that you pre-rank your players otherwise you may get a kicker early or an injured player at a crucial spot in the draft. I have no say in the draft order. Yahoo will randomly select the order 30 minutes prior to draft time. Yahoo is always upgrading their software and as a result, you may need to download a newer version of Java. PLEASE TEST YOUR SYSTEM WELL IN ADVANCE OF THE DRAFT!
Trading is one of the elements of this game that makes it enjoyable. I encourage managers to ‘wheel and deal’ all year round up until the deadline. However, remember the purpose of a trade is for both teams to address their individual needs. There is no veto button to be "over-abused." We will assemble a "Trade Committee" to decide on the validity of trades. Nothing ruins a league more than people pushing a veto button just because they don't like one of the teams involved in the trade. I believe there are only two reasons for a trade rejection:
1. Collusion (Helping a buddy stack his team and splitting the winnings)
2. A blatantly unfair trade, (i.e. LT for Donald Driver)
I assure you a trade WILL NOT be rejected without a GOOD REASON.
The Trade Committee will pick a time to meet in chat or via email and shall consist of:
1. The Commissioner, Mark.
2. Assistant Commissioner/Treasurer, Gary.
3. A third member (basically whoever volunteers first)
(Two alternates will be chosen incase the trade is between one or more members of the Committee as we can't have conflicts of interest, obviously)
Majority rules, in other words approval takes a 2/3's Committee vote.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion on all trades and can let their voice be heard via email to one of the Committee members.
This takes the approving authority away from one man, myself, and allows us to avoid a "veto button" system which has proven to not work in past leagues and cause fights.
Trade deadline is November 14, 2008.
Maximum moves (Waiver-wire adds) is 21. This DOES NOT include trades. For example, you could be at 21 moves and still make unlimited trades until the deadline.
Waiver priority will initially be determined by the draft order. If you get the #1 pick, you will then have the #12 waiver priority and so on (12th pick gets #1 waiver).
Trash talking is fine and allowed. Personal insults are not. You get one warning before you lose posting privileges. If you have a ‘beef’ with someone, please take it off the site.
Racist posts will obviously result in immediate ban from the league, forfeiture of league entry fee and potential winnings, and no chance at reinstatement. I can even take a “mother joke” here and there but this is where I draw the line and you should, too.
I will say no more on this since we are all adults.
