Any of You Guys Listen to Football on the Radio?

If so, what are some particular things that you like or dislike from the play-by-play guys? Anything that you hear regularly that annoys/bothers you? Anything you'd like to hear people do more often? How important is it that they describe the formation before each play and mention substatutions? Basically, I'm just looking for some thoughts on what makes a good football broadcast from anyone who listens to games on the radio.

I love the emotion of the home broadcasters. I guess it makes sense for me, as a Saints' fan, to listen to the Saints' broadcasters. I love the excitement in the voice when something great happens, and also the despair. They -- Jim Henderson and Hokie Gajan -- really do a good job of painting the picture of the field and what is going on in the game.

Paul Allen for the Vikings makes you think people are breaking off a 60 yard TD... "ONE MAN TO BEAT! AROUND THE CORNER! for about a 2 yard gain" ... that gets old

I occasionally catch Seahawks games but football on the radio just doesn't do it for me. Unlike other sports, it's really hard to describe what 22 guys are doing on the field at once. The only times I'll listen is when my power goes out and I can't watch on TV.

Unless its prime time, I don't LISTEN to the TV. I just turn down the volume and turn on Merril Reese and Mike Quick. Much better commentators than just about anything offered for Eagles games
