That's Sacrilege!
No it's not, take last night for example, the South Carolina/Vandy game was funner to watch and head and shoulders better than that snore fest Giants/Skins game, and that SC/Vandy game wasn't all that good. Don't get me wrong I love NFL football but college tends to lend itself to more exciting games.
I wasn't completely serious there
I enjoy watching college games, the football is at least as good if not better than the NFL. Hard for me to get into it though.

Yeah I figured it was in jest.
It helps when you have a school or conference to follow.

So, because I went to a college that didn't have a football team I can't root for anybody
No you can you're just silly if you do.
Right-o, not saying you can't, that's just my personal take. Personally, I'd feel weird rooting for UCLA even if I passed up on going to school there and I'd dare not support USC, which tends to be L.A.'s next best thing to a pro football team. I'm just bitter because all Loyola Marymount was famous for in the grand scope of things was the 1989 Elite 8 team and the school Hank Gathers past away on.
I went to Gustavus, but I root for the Gophers. I have rooted for them my whole life living in MN... So I don't fully agree with that reasoning, even though I full understand the logic behind it. Most people I know in this state root for the Gophers no matter what college we attended. Then again, we'd be lucky to get 3 wins. Hockey however... MN high school teams could destroy many college teams IMO... and the Goph's are always in the mix to get to the Frozen Four.

I LOVE to watch and keep up with NFL ball. I enjoy college ball, but can't get into it as much since I don't keep up with it. it's great dramatic games, but I just can't get into it as easily.
I've been a Husker fan my whole life (born into it, by the grace of God), so I can't agree with that premise, either. Yeah, I went to UNL later in life, but from birth to age 17.99, I didn't qualify to be a Husker fan? Nah. That's not how it is here in Nebraska.
Maybe in other parts of the country where there are a lot of bandwagon fans I can see what you're saying Dodger, but here in Nebraska, it's a way of life.
I haven't gone to UO(yet)but I bleed yellow and green, going to the school is irrelevant. When you live in a college town you fall in love with the team. LA is not a college town.

I think that is ridiculous. What about young kids? They can't be fans of a college team either? Where does it end, once you are able to attend college you can only root for that team anymore?
So you don't have a NFL team that you root for, right?
