"shiftiness". I want to dissect exactly what this guy is talking bout.

Just watch Felix Jones in action, then watch McFadden...Its a huge difference, and while McFadden runs a faster 40 that doesn't always translate as easy as some of the other numbers do...Now Felix isn't the greatest ever, just like to use those two as an example because they were at the same school in the same class, and thus far McFadden hasn't showed any of that explosiveness or shiftiness, and Felix shows it every time he touches the ball.

These guys haven't played one regular season game & people are already drinking the Haterade. Let's see how it plays out before labeling them.

Ok, so it seems he is this classic "one cut and go" type of back.

Please list active RB's in the NFL that are successfull "one cut and go" backs.

THen, list active RB's that are successfull "shiftiness, duke and dunk" type backs.

Thanks

I would say Lawrence Maroney and Michael Turner are two finesse RBs that are successful. D-Mac's partner Fargas is a finesse guy. It just takes good offensive line schemes to make these guys great. They just need one key block to let them slip the corner and then it's goodnight, Irene-- the ball is 25-40 yards down the field in a flash.

One thing about that Barry video that came to mind while watching it was how much heart he demonstrated while running. The guy just never quit. I've not really watched that much of McFadden but I think if he's got that, he may very well be a star player.

D.Mac was a beast at Arkansas and will be a beast in the NFL. Felix Jones is already showing signs of being NFL ready in Dallas and D.Mac is showing the same thing. They both ran at Arkansas and they both ran very well. They're both in for good years.

Look at every RB from the Bronco system. They rely on one cut and burst. McFadden in Denver would be a beast....until week 3 when Bubba Scrubba would get a surprise start. :-b

The amount of conclusion-jumping that goes on with rookies makes my head hurt. :-P

Does this explain why Portis was a home-run hitter in Denver ? Well, that, and Portis's speed of course.
