Yo buddy, welcome to the 2004 season. Its RBBC for the Vikings all the way, with Moe Williams poaching all goaline carries. He's the only Minn RB worth having, in my opinion. Bennett will be worked in and get a TD here or there on a longer run but he will mainly be picking up yardage and Moe getting the TD's. Vikings need to step it up, they are starting to stink up the joint!
The only thing we have to fear is.... another injured Denver RB!!!!!!!!

Pfft......don't listen to that guy. If you asked practically anyone to compare the value of Bennett to Williams last year, the majority would pick Bennett.......even with Moe lurking around the goaline. Now it looks like the Vikings are inching back towards that setup with O. Smith being phased out last week. It could be 50/50 for the next game, but eventually Bennett will get his legs back and he'll be the starter. With that O-line I think you can start to play him with confidence in the very near future. I definately wouldn't trade Bennett for Moe Williams right now.

I think Bennett will have a nice game against the Chargers this week. He looked pretty good running the ball last week, and he got 8 of the 20 carries. He may not start this week, but soon, very soon.

Here's the latest update posted on CBS Sportsline:

"The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Michael Bennett (foot) performed well in his first test Sunday and will have his workload increased for Week 10 at San Diego. Originally, he was set to start again on December 7, but will now probably start earlier than that.
(Updated 11/04/2003)."

I think Bennett is a relatively good choice...

I'm starting him this week. Of course my other options are Moe Williams, Barlow, Duckett and Porter, so that's not really saying much.

Minnesota plays an overmatched San Diego. Bennett is coming off a significant injury that almost ended his season. Tice will play it safe and split carries evenly between Moe and Michael. Bennett will get 80% of the carries eventually, but don't look for it this weekend.

I might be crazy here, but Bennett was in the game for Minnesota's first play last week. That makes him the starter. He will get 100 yards from scrimmage against the Chargers.
